SeKAIDO 2022 Exhibition
KUSAKABE AWARD WINNER

Very proud and grateful to have had my work selected by Sekaido at their annual art competition this year. Each year the work produced by artists here is staggering and the quality and variety of work just gets better and better.
My piece this year was an exploration of themes that ean a great deal to me. The concepts of time, fluidity and a world moving more and more into the digital realms. Although not totally achieving the effects and depth I wanted with this work, I’m pleased with the progress and easing stress levels that used to plague me when taking on a larger piece like this.
Very lucky to also announce my work was chosen by paint manufactorer and sponsor of the event, KUSAKABE, for their outstanding artwork award. Really terrific piece in the exhibition this year and so all the more grateful. Much thanks and love KUSAKABE for this award..

SeKAIDO 2020 Exhibition
With everything that’s been happening in 2020, finding chances to pick up the paint brushes have been few and far between. The 16th annual Sekaido competition almost passed me by the year, and with only 2 weeks to prepare I was pretty pleased with the results.
My entry this year was more of an exploration of what I enjoy doing rather than any clear message in the work. A woman, underwater, surrounded by octopus tentacles might have had some undercurrents of this years COVID situation, but actually I wanted to tests a limited pallet, in conjunction with my themes of floating, drifting, fluidity and beauty.

DESIGN Festa Vol 49
_______________________________________
Had a great time at Design Festa 49 in Tokyo exhibiting some of my works for the first time, meeting new people and artists. Much love and thanks to my family and friends who came along to the event, especially Zander and Yuya who brought ice cream!
Straight up I hadn’t expected the event to be a roaring success, with all my paintings getting snapped up within the first 30 minutes (although this did happen to the artist selling elf knives next to me), but being able to stand with my work was a huge step emotionally.

Aeon AWARD WINNER

Between August 23rd and August 30th an exhibition of artwork selected by Sekaido art store will be on display at The Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno, Tokyo.
Luckily this year a piece of my artwork (FaceTime) was selected by sponsor Orion. This piece took about 5 weeks to produce so I was really happy to be contacted by Sekaido.
Much thanks to my wife and son for supporting me, and most importantly, giving me time on the weekends to put time into this.
